Freedom has limits

  By  Sharique Naeem

The caricatures of the Prophet (PBUH), being hailed in some countries, as “Freedom of Press”, rings hypocritically hollow. If freedom of press is truly valued, by the secularist, then why was Al-Jazera targeted for its coverage of war? Why is it that their broadcasting offices gets bombed in Afghanistan, and closed down in Iraq? Why is it that the same newspapers which publish these cartoons to show solidarity with the notion of “freedom of press”, do not demand the US to release all footage of the abuses that took place in Abu Ghraib, and publish them? It seems, that, when the secularists boast of their belief in tolerance and free speech, It only applies when the speaker agrees with their views.
