Fortunate & Necessity

By Abdullah ibn Adam

In the desert, fortunate is not the one that has gold, treasure, dollars etc BUT the fortunate is that who has enough water (the necessities). No one will want to give his water in the desert.

Similarly, the fortunate ones will be those who will have light, in the darkness.

If you prefer to take both, treasures & necessities; it will surely make the life difficult. Just like a person in the desert, who takes with him limited water and unnecessary burden of treasures.

Just like treasures cannot remove thirst, darkness cannot be removed without the light; How can we feel satisfaction, once we have neglected our purpose of life?

So gain good deeds (lights) before that realm overcomes, where materialism will fail. We will all leave behind all these worldly/material things one day. So why neglect that which is important? And why waste time for that which is temporary?

The Qur'an [al-Kahf(18):7-8]

We have decked the earth with all kinds of ornaments to test the people and to see which of them do the best deeds.
In the end We shall reduce all that is on it to a barren wasteland.

The Qur'an [At-Tahrim(66):8]

O you who believe! turn to Allah a sincere turning; maybe your Lord will remove from you your evil and cause you to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, on the day on which Allah will not abase the Prophet and those who believe with him; their light shall run on before them and on their right hands; they shall say: Our Lord! make perfect for us our light, and grant us protection, surely Thou hast power over all things.
