Caliphobia

  By  Sharique Naeem

While following the news of the past few months, one cannot fail to notice the fact that a number of people from the ruling clique of the West, including President Bush, Prime Minister Tony Blair, British Home Secretary Charles Clarke, US Secretary Defense Donald Rumsfled, Chief of US Central Command: Army General John Abizaid, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard Myers, etc, have frequently mentioned their concern about the so called 'Caliphate'. They fear the Caliphate to be a "radical Islamic empire that sans from Spain to Indonesia".

In the field of medicine, a 'phobia' (meaning fear in Greek) is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities, or persons. Given the recent statements of these leaders, I reckon, that they are suffering from a new phobia, which in my opinion should be named as "Khilafah-phobia".

This new coinage should signify to mean "fear of Muslims united under an Islamic super state". It is my humble request to our rulers to take the necessary precautions on their international tours to avoid being predisposed to this new disease.
